Communism, Gender and Women’s Emancipation: the International Communist Women’s Movement in the Early 1920s
Daria Dyakonova is a Marxist and Communism and Marxism historian. She is completing a Ph.D. on the international ties of the Young Communist League of Canada during the interwar period at the Université de Montréal. Together with Mike Taber she is currently working on a documentary collection covering the experience of the International Communist Women’s Movement in the early 1920s.
Emancipation and the women of the East – the communist women’s movement in 1920s Soviet Central Asia
Anne McShane is a Marxist and human rights lawyer who has had an active involvement in politics both in Britain and Ireland for many years. She has completed a PhD in the experience of the Zhenotdel (Women’s Department) of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union among Muslim women of Central Asia in the 1920s.
