Corona: Get your local LP branch/CLP to take initiative!

Here at North West Durham CLP we understand that many residents are feeling concerned about the spread of Covid-19 (coronavirus) and the lack of action from the Government.

We would like to offer our assistance to all residents across NWD, particularly those who are vulnerable or have been told to self-isolate. If you need help picking up food, toiletries, baby items, prescriptions, or any other essentials then we’d be more than happy to help. If a resident who lives alone is at risk of becoming socially isolated – we will call them. We have a team of labour members who are available in various locations across the constituency.

If you are in need of our help, please call or message us on:

With your permission, we will forward your details on to the volunteer who lives closest to you.

Our food banks will struggle due to the amount of stockpiling we are seeing, if you are able to make donations, especially of items such as pasta, long life milk, tinned goods etc, we’ll gladly collect items and drop them off at food banks. Households will be depending on support and we will do what we can to ensure our food banks are able to provide to those who are in need.

We are aware that some of our members have already been providing similar assistance in local community spaces and we are proud to support them, and all residents, by rolling out this offer of help across the entire constituency.

Please share this post and also spread the word in person. We are here to help!
